Food Log 9/16/10

Breakfast: apple, cornbread with honey, tea
Lunch: salad - spring mix lettuce, hard boiled egg, beautiful purple carrots, apples, honey dressing


Dinner: leftover stuffed peppers and baked potato french fries (potato cut into wedges, baked with a little butter and parsley)

Snacks: maple syrup candy, pearsauce

  1. I'm an Allegheny alumn from 1992 and I am very much enjoying your blog. I cook 95% of my meals from scratch...baking my own bread, bagels, pitta, etc. and processing (canning, freezing, dehydrating) my own food as I go along. You are right, this is a TON of work. But I feel it is well worth it.

    I get most of my veggies from the local CSA but I don't have a hard and fast rule as to proximity of foods consumed. I do pay attention, however. When possible, I buy my meat from the local (60 miles away) organic farm, I always buy my dairy from local sources as well.

    I look forward to watching your project move forward. :-)
